Associates Program in Arabic & Islamic Sciences

Dive deep into language of the Quran and the rich tradition of Sacred Knowledge. Utilizing a user-friendly and gradual curriculum, this course is designed for students who desire to read, translate, and understand Islamic Texts in the Arabic Language.

Course Overview

Year 1: Foundations of Arabic

Timeframe: 30 Weeks

Students will study:

  • Arabic Vocabulary through short Ahadith from the Messenger (ﷺ)
  • Tafsir of the often recited surahs
  • Foundational Arabic Grammar & Morphology
  • A complete Arabic text in the science of Good Character

By the end of the year, students will:

  • Strengthen their reading of the Arabic Language
  • Be able to translate at a High Beginner level with the help of a dictionary
  • Have a solid grasp over the essential building blocks of grammar and morphology
  • Memorized over 250 Arabic words

Year 2: Arabic & Islamic Texts

Timeframe: 30 Weeks

Students will study:

  • Intermediate level Arabic Morphology & Vocabulary
  • The most famous text in Arabic Grammar, “al-Ajrumiyya”
  • Three complete Arabic texts in Aqida, Fiqh, and Sira

By the end of the year, students will:

  • Read, translate, and understand Classical Arabic at an intermediate level
  • Have memorized a total of 500 Arabic Words
  • Analyze Classical Islamic Texts with confidence

Year 3: Arabic & Revelation

Timeframe: 30 Weeks

Students will study:

  • How to Read Classical Tafsir of the Quran
  • How to Read Hadith Commentary
  • Three complete Arabic texts in Ulum al-Quran, Ulum al-Hadith, and Sira

By the end of the year, students will:

  • Read, translate, and understand Classical Arabic at a High-intermediate level
  • Have memorized a total of 750+ Arabic Words
  • Have studied a complete text in all 7 major Islamic subjects
  • Be able to test into the 2nd year of an Islamic Seminary
